ANA Twelfth Annual Regional Exhibition

The image of the Immaculate Heart represents my first foray into genuine liturgical and religious art. It was painted in oils on wood panel in August of 2006, and is 18 x 24 inches.

The model is a wonderful lady from my parish, who was kind enough to pose for me. I asked her to pose as Mary partly because her brown scapular caught my eye at Mass one day. She did a wonderful job and was very patient, in spite wearing such a heavy costume in the summer heat.

The image is traditional, and Mary's heart, burning with love for Christ, is meant to inspire us all to love Him in the same way.
